Evaluations - Shuttle Run
What's tested: running speed when having to turn
How set up: Note that the dark circles in the drawing are cones.
- 4 cones in a straight line, 10 yards apart
- Player stands behind the 1st cone and waits for the command to start
- Player sprints to the 2nd cone, turns and sprints back to the 1st.
- Player then sprints to the 3nd cone, turns and sprints back to the 1st.
- Player then sprints to the 4th cone, turns and sprints back to the 1st.
- On each turn, at least one foot must land on the far side of the cone, no cheating turns
- Timer stops when the player crosses the 1st cone for the last time
- Time
- Run in a straight line
- Make sure that at least 1 foot lands on the far-side of the cone
- Speed is important
- Start the timer when player starts (either the player or the adjudicator can say "go")
- Stop the timer when player crosses the 1st cone for the last time
