Winter 2024 Indoor K-2 program

Kindergarten/1st Grade
When: Sunday mornings from 11:00am - 12:00pm beginning Jan. 21 and running for 10 weeks through Sun. March 24
Where: Wide World of Indoor Sports in Montville, CT
Who: K/1st graders in East Lyme and Salem. Teams and play will be coed and a mixture of kindergarten and 1st grade. We do not have the space or resources to separate the grades. Teams will be created at random and we are unable to accommodate requests to be placed with a particular player/coach. But, please know that all players/teams will be on the same field, so their is opportunity to see and interact with one's friends.
Cost: $60 and we're limiting registration to roughly 50 players
Format: ELSA will not be providing professional trainers, but a member of the Board will be in attendance each week to oversee the session. We will create 6 teams and will need a coach(es) for each team. (please indicate your interest during registration) ELSA will provide a session plan to coaches each week with suggestions to organize 2 drills to cover the first 20 minutes of the session. The remaining time will involve two 20-minutes games between teams. Our approach is to provide a bit of training/structure at the start, but to focus primarily on having fun by playing small-sided games. Success will depend on volunteer help, so please consider signing up as a Coach/Asst. and know that ELSA will provide support.

2nd Grade
When: Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 11:00am beginning Jan. 21 and running for 10 weeks through Sun. March 24
Where: Wide World of Indoor Sports in Montville, CT
Who: 2nd graders in East Lyme and Salem. This is NOT a league organized by WWIS, we've rented a field just for ELSA 2nd graders. Teams will be coed.
Cost: $75 and we're limiting registration to 30-35 players
Format: ELSA will not be providing trainers. The idea is to have fun and learn to play in a small-sided game format as they'll experience during U9/U10 Travel Soccer next fall. We'll ask a few volunteer coaches each Sunday to split the players into two teams and have a fun scrimmage with "ice hockey style" substitutions to ensure equal playing time. Teams will be created anew each week based on who's in attendance and ELSA will provide pinnies for each team.

 Registration is now closed.
