WINTER 2026 Recreational Indoor Soccer Program - PreK-2nd Grade
Our PreK through Grade 2 Recreational Soccer program is designed to teach players fundamental skills with many touches on the ball and limited time standing in lines. Our youngest players are taught skills through engaging drills and imaginative play. Older players build skills through more complex, multi-step drills that involve individual and teamwork elements. Our goal is to foster each player's love of soccer while enhancing skills at all levels.
When: Sundays, January 4-March 29, 2026
Where: Wide World of Indoor Sports, 2 Sachatello Industrial Drive, Oakdale, CT
Grade Times:
- Kindergarten: 11:00-12:00 pm
- 1st Grade Boys: 11:00-12:00 pm
- 1st & 2nd Grade Girls: 10:00-11:00 am **
- 2nd Grade Boys: 10:00-11:00 am
**This year we also separated 1st Grade into boys and girls sessions. Our intention is to build rapport earlier in development with like-gender peers to
build player confidence and skill development in an environment where players feel supported, engaged, valued, and that they belong.
Required Player Equipment:
- Shin guards
- Soccer ball (Size 3 - PreK, K & 1st and Size 4 - 2nd)
- Water bottle
- Cleats (recommended)
Weekly Field Assignments: Teams will be identified by their Coach's last name. Weekly field assignments are emailed to families and depict the specific soccer goal/field space where each team will be stationed. Field assignments change weekly to facilitate scrimmages with varying teams each week. Kindergarten and 1st Grade Boys will share a field and will remain divided by grade. 1st/2nd Grade Girls and 2nd Grade Boys will share a field and will remain divided by gender.
Session Format: Volunteer coaches will receive grade-level specific lesson plans prior to each session. Each team will run the same drills at each session with 30-40 minutes reserved at the end for scrimmages. The length of scrimmages depends on the grade level.
